The Taylor Barndo
The unique world of barndominiums have captured the attention of many and the Taylors were no different. They stepped out of the box and enjoyed every minute designing their dream home. One of the dreams that seemed out of reach were the large arched exterior doors, which is why they were so thrilled to stumble upon the Door Clearance Center! Erin relates "I was blown away at the difference in prices! I literally got 3 sets of double doors, for less than the price of 1 set of double doors elsewhere! The quality is unreal and the beauty literally cannot be matched! And, I couldn't believe how easy they were to order!" You can see for yourself in the photos, the natural contrasts between the metal roof, the stone and the rustic wood doors make this a distinct and individual living space. Erin said it best, "The doors truly made our house a home!"
The Pleasant Farmhouse
Lots of thought went into this pleasant farmhouse! Sasha explains, "I chose our Knotty Alder double doors with clear glass because when I designed our home, I wanted a clear view from the front doors all the way through the main living area with fireplace and straight to the other side of the house! We love the unrestricted views!" Sasha, like many of you, is a true DIYer. Which is one of the reasons she couldn't pass up maintaining the natural beauty of the knotty alder wood on her front door. She took on this DIY project and sealed the wood, instead of using a stain, to keep the natural wood contrast against their striking black siding. We celebrate Sasha's tenacity in caring for her family, designing their dream home and challenging herself creatively with unique DIY projects. Their Forever Farmhouse
You can feel the love Cassie poured into their forever farmhouse! Her fresh perspective on the modern farmhouse is truly evident in the way she incorporated our doors into their home. She shares “I was drawn to those knotty alder doors for my porch, the moment I saw them!” While she loves the farmhouse style, she still wanted the ability to mix it with a bit of modern flare. A Successful Space Saving Solution
If you've been following The Vintage Bucket, you know Rendi is no stranger to DIY successes. So when they needed a space saving solution for their bathroom door, they reached out to us! Their original bathroom door was a standard swing door and it fought for space in their busy hallway. A barn door slider would be the perfect solution for this "tiny but busy area," so we set them up with a 2-panel shaker pine wood door slab! That's the beauty of DIY projects, you can customize a solution that fits your needs, while personalizing it to reflect your individual style. That's exactly what Rendi did! She relates, "since this is the first thing you see when entering from our mudroom, I wanted a statement color ... Choosing soft pink to contrast against the white makes you take a second look without being too bold where it overtakes the small space."
Welcome Home
When we saw Kathy's photos, we immediately felt welcomed into their home. In fact, they chose the mahogany door with sidelites because it was so inviting. In addition to the welcoming curb appeal, she loves that the front door “leaves the room feeling bright and airy.” Kathy shares this sweet sentiment, “The windows are the perfect height for my toddler to gaze out and watch for his dad to come home.” We cannot think of a more lovely example of how one design element can become such an integral part of so many cherished memories.
